New venture proposal forTyler · Modern Plumbing Group
/ Carports & verandahs · Dedicated microsite & launch plan

Your new business deserves
its own front door.

Tyler, you asked a good question: should the new carports and verandahs business live as a landing page on the Modern Plumbing Group website, or stand on its own? Our honest answer is that a page on a plumbing site will hold it back from day one. A carport or verandah is a considered purchase, closer to a renovation than a callout, and the person making it needs to land on a builder, not a plumber. Here is the case, two examples of exactly what we would build you, and what it costs to launch properly.

/ The decision

Landing page or its own site? Here is the difference in practice.

Both options put a page about carports and verandahs on the internet. Only one of them gives the new business a fair chance to win the click, the enquiry and the search rankings.

A landing page on modernplumbinggroup.com.au

  • Visitors land on a plumbing brand and have to work out why a plumber builds carports. Some will not stay to find out.
  • Google scores ads partly on how well the landing site matches the search. Carport ads on a plumbing domain pay more per click for lower positions.
  • One page buried in a plumbing site will almost never rank for "carports Melbourne" or "verandah builders". The domain is about plumbing.
  • Mixing construction content into the plumbing site also dilutes what Google thinks that site is about, which risks the rankings the plumbing business already earns.
  • No separate Google Business Profile, no separate reviews, no separate brand equity. Everything accrues to the plumbing name.
  • If the venture takes off, you rebuild properly anyway and start the SEO clock from zero, later.

A dedicated microsite on its own domain

  • Visitors land on a business that does exactly what they searched for. Designs, gallery, materials, process, quote form. Nothing else.
  • Ad, keyword and landing page all match, so Google rewards you: better ad positions at a lower cost per click from the first campaign.
  • The whole domain is about carports and verandahs, so it can genuinely rank for those searches and grow suburb by suburb.
  • The plumbing site stays cleanly focused on plumbing. Neither business muddies the other.
  • Own Google Business Profile, own reviews, own phone number, own brand. An asset you could one day scale, partner or sell separately.
  • Built once, built right. The SEO clock starts now, not after a rebuild.

We manage your Google Ads account every week, so this is not theory to us: relevance is priced into every click Google sells. Pointing construction ads at a plumbing domain means paying a premium for a worse result.

/ Why it wins

Six reasons the microsite is the right call.

Match the buyer

A carport or verandah is a five-figure considered purchase. That buyer compares builders, looks at photos and reads reviews. They need to land on a construction brand that looks the part.

Cheaper clicks, better positions

Google Ads quality scoring rewards ads that lead to exactly what was searched. A dedicated site means stronger ad relevance, which means lower cost per click and more enquiries per dollar.

A domain that can rank

Search engines rank sites, not pages, for competitive local terms. A whole domain about carports and verandahs can build rankings suburb by suburb. A single page on a plumbing site cannot.

Own profile, own reviews

A separate Google Business Profile collects reviews that talk about carports and verandahs, shows in the local map pack, and builds trust for this business specifically.

Protect the plumbing brand

Modern Plumbing Group has rankings, reviews and a reputation. Keeping the new venture separate means neither confuses the other's customers or search presence.

Build an asset

A standalone brand, domain and enquiry pipeline is something you can grow, bring a partner into, or sell one day. A landing page inside another company's website is none of those things.

/ The budget option

What about a basic landing page? There is one, and here is the honest trade-off.

If you want to prove demand before committing to the full build, we can start with a single landing page for $1,500. To be clear, we would still put it on its own new domain, never inside the plumbing site, for all the reasons above. It works well as a fast test for paid ads. What it cannot do is everything else a real website does.

Landing page · $1,500 one-off

  • One fast, sharp page on its own new .com.au domain
  • Hero, designs strip, three-step process, quote form and click-to-call
  • Core analytics and conversion tracking installed
  • Live in about one week
  • Does its job for paid ads: the click lands on exactly what was searched

What the microsite adds for the extra $1,000

  • Pages that rank. Google ranks depth: separate pages for carports, verandahs, gallery, process and service area can each win their own searches. A one-pager competes for one search, and rarely wins even that organically.
  • Trust for a five-figure decision. Buyers comparing quotes click around before they call. One page can read like a campaign ad; a real site reads like an established builder.
  • Room to grow without rebuilding. Suburb pages, new designs, FAQs and reviews all slot in. A landing page that works usually becomes a microsite rebuild anyway, later and at full price.
  • The full brand and profile. Proper brand treatment, richer copy, a dedicated tracking phone number and the Google Business Profile setup.

Starting small is not wasted money: the domain, tracking and brand groundwork carry across if you upgrade to the microsite later. But if the plan is to make this business real, the microsite is $1,000 well spent on day one.

/ Proof, not promises

Two microsites we built exactly this way.

Both of these are live now. Each is a dedicated site on its own domain, designed and built by 121 Group to do one job: turn interest in a single offering into enquiries. Different industries, same playbook we would run for your carports and verandahs venture. Have a click around them.

marrambiestate.com.au

Your site would carry its own identity again: strong photography of real projects, designs and materials, service area, a simple quote process, and click-to-call throughout, built mobile-first because that is where your customers are.

/ What we build

Everything the new business needs to open for enquiries.

Brand, domain and site

  • Business name shortlist and .com.au domain check, registration and setup
  • Simple, sharp brand treatment: logo type, colours, tone
  • Custom-designed microsite, mobile-first and fast: home, designs and gallery, process, service area, about, quote page
  • Copywriting for every page, written for the buyer and for search
  • Hosting, SSL and email setup on infrastructure we manage

Measurement from day one

  • Quote request form wired to your inbox and phone
  • Dedicated tracking phone number with call recording, so you know which calls came from the new site
  • Google Analytics, Search Console and our 121 Insights server-side tracking engine installed from launch
  • New Google Business Profile for the construction business
  • The same measurement discipline you already see on your Modern Plumbing Group dashboard

You already know how we work. Modern Plumbing Group runs on our dashboard: every call recorded, every lead tied back to the ad that drove it, cost per lead in plain sight. The new venture gets that same wiring from its first day of trading, so you will know your real cost per carport enquiry from week one, not year one.

/ Timeline

Name confirmed to live in about three weeks.

  1. Week 1: Name, domain and design

We workshop the business name with you, secure the .com.au, and design the look of the site and brand. You approve the direction before anything is built.

  2. Week 2: Build and content

Full build of the microsite with copy, gallery and quote flow. We will need your best project photos; if the library is thin we plan a shoot around current jobs.

  3. Week 3: Tracking, polish and launch

Tracking number, analytics, Google Business Profile and testing across devices. Then we launch, and if you take a campaign option below, ads go live the same week.

/ Investment

Start with the site, or launch with demand switched on.

All pricing ex GST. Campaign options are month to month with no lock-in, and ad spend is separate, paid directly to Google at whatever budget we agree, starting small.
